Hyundai Launches Grand i10 Nios With Dual-Cylinder CNG Setup

Hyundai India has introduced a dual-cylinder CNG setup in the Grand i10 Nios hatchback, following its earlier launch in the Exter. This new setup is designed to provide more boot space and is available in two mid-spec variants: Magna and Sportz.

Grand i10 Nios Pricing and Variants

  • Price: The dual-cylinder CNG versions of the Grand i10 Nios are priced between Rs 7.75 lakh and Rs 8.30 lakh.
  • Variants: Available in Magna and Sportz trims, these variants offer the same features and safety equipment as their petrol counterparts.
  • Comparison: The dual-cylinder CNG variant is Rs 7,000 more expensive than the single-cylinder CNG versions, which will still be on sale, and about Rs 97,000 more than the petrol variants.

Engine and Performance

  • Engine: The Grand i10 Nios is powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine.
  • Power Output: On CNG, it produces 69hp and 95Nm of torque, while on petrol, it delivers 83hp and 114Nm of torque.
  • Transmission: The Nios CNG comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox, unlike the petrol version, which also offers a 5-speed AMT option.

Grand i10 Nios Competition

  • Tata Tiago CNG: The Tiago also offers a dual-cylinder CNG setup, with manual variants priced between Rs 6.60 lakh and Rs 8.35 lakh. It also includes a 5-speed AMT option, priced between Rs 7.90 lakh and Rs 8.90 lakh.
  • Maruti Wagon R and Celerio CNG: Other competitors include Maruti’s Wagon R (Rs 6.45-6.80 lakh) and Celerio (Rs 6.74 lakh) CNG models.

The introduction of the dual-cylinder CNG setup in the Grand i10 Nios provides Hyundai with a competitive edge in the CNG hatchback segment, offering more practicality and options for buyers looking for fuel-efficient alternatives.
