Motorola Edge 50 Ultra to Feature 125W Fast Charging, Teased Design Revealed

Motorola is set to unveil its new Edge 50 series lineup, including the Edge 50 Ultra, Edge 50 Fusion, and Edge 50 Pro, in international markets on April 16. Just ahead of the launch, the company has teased details about the design and fast-charging capabilities of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra. In a post on social media, Motorola confirmed that the Edge 50 Ultra will feature 125W TurboPower fast charging. Although the specific model name was not revealed in the teaser, it’s apparent that the focus is on the Edge 50 Ultra.

The teaser video offers a glimpse of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra’s design. The phone is showcased in a Peach Fuzz color variant, featuring a hole punch display and curved edges. Notably, the device sports a triple rear camera setup, headlined by a 50-megapixel primary sensor equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS).

Motorola had previously disclosed that the Edge 50 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. A recent Geekbench listing further confirmed its specifications, revealing Android 14 software and up to 12GB of RAM. The device achieved a single-core score of 1,947 and a multi-core score of 5,149 on Geekbench.

According to earlier leaks, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a high 165Hz refresh rate. It’s likely to house a 50-megapixel front-facing camera and a 4,500mAh battery supporting 50W wireless charging.

In terms of pricing and availability, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is anticipated to be released in the US under the names Motorola Edge+ 2024 or Edge Ultra 2024, priced at $999 (approximately Rs. 83,000).

The comprehensive Edge 50 series launch event on April 16 will introduce three variants: the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC and already available in India; the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion, expected to feature the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC; and the flagship Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, which promises advanced specifications including high-speed charging and top-tier camera capabilities.
