Square Enix, the developer behind the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, is aiming to release the third and final game in the series by 2027. This update comes following insights shared in interviews published in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Ultimania companion book. According to excerpts posted on social media, including by user @aitaikimochi, the story for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 has already been finalized, and development progress is underway.

Tetsuya Nomura, the creative director of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, mentioned that voice recording for the third game could commence soon. Yoshinori Kitase, the series producer, noted that the development team continuity from previous installments has ensured efficiency in production. He indicated that the development period for the third part is anticipated to mirror that of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which took approximately three years to complete.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the second installment of the remake trilogy, was released in February exclusively for PS5. It continues the narrative from the initial Final Fantasy 7 Remake launched in April 2020. Square Enix has yet to disclose the official title for the concluding game in the trilogy. However, the target timeline for its release suggests a launch window around 2027.
