Hyderabad: A 27-year-old woman tragically ended her life after her long-term boyfriend married someone else. The incident took place in the early hours of Monday morning in Dilsukhnagar, where the woman, a staff nurse at a hospital in Punjagutta, was found unconscious in the bathroom of her hostel. She was originally from Nalgonda district.
Relationship Turns Tragic
The woman had been in a long-term relationship with Janareddy, also from Nalgonda, for several years. According to police reports, Janareddy allegedly manipulated her into a physical relationship under the false promise of marriage. However, he later abandoned her, citing caste differences.
The situation took a devastating turn when Janareddy married another woman a month ago, leaving the victim heartbroken and distraught. She isolated herself after the marriage, returning to Hyderabad for work, but the emotional toll of the situation proved too much to bear.
Discovery of the Tragic Event
Her roommate discovered the woman unconscious at 3 am and immediately rushed her to the hospital. Unfortunately, doctors declared her dead upon arrival. Authorities found empty medicine strips and a pregnancy test in her bag, suggesting she had been struggling emotionally and physically.
Police Investigation and Legal Action
Following the incident, Saroor Nagar police registered a case against Janareddy under the SC & ST Atrocities Act. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence related to the circumstances of the woman’s tragic death.
