Vivo X Fold 5 Launched: Slimmer Foldable with 8.03-Inch Display, Zeiss Cameras & Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

Vivo has unveiled its next-generation foldable phone, the Vivo X Fold 5, in the Chinese market. This premium foldable smartphone brings a refined design, top-tier performance, and flagship-grade cameras. It is lighter and thinner than the previous Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and comes with upgraded durability and Apple ecosystem support.

Vivo X Fold 5 Price and Availability

The Vivo X Fold 5 comes in four variants:

• 12GB + 256GB – CNY 6,999 (approx ₹83,800)

• 12GB + 512GB – CNY 7,999 (approx ₹96,000)

• 16GB + 512GB – CNY 8,499 (approx ₹1,02,000)

• 16GB + 1TB – CNY 9,499 (approx ₹1,14,000)

Color options include Baibai (green), Quingsong (white) and Titanium (black). Sales in China will begin on July 2 via Vivo’s official e-store and other major platforms.

Display and Design

The phone features a dual-screen setup:

• Main foldable display: 8.03-inch LTPO AMOLED

• Cover display: 6.83-inch LTPO AMOLED

Both panels support 120Hz refresh rate, 4500 nits peak brightness, and high-frequency PWM dimming. TÜV Rheinland certification and Zeiss Master Color tuning ensure eye protection and color accuracy.

When folded, the device is 9.2mm thick, and just 4.3mm when unfolded, making it one of the slimmest foldables. It weighs 217g.

Performance and Software

The Vivo X Fold 5 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. It runs on Android 15-based OriginOS 5, offering a refined foldable experience.

Vivo X Fold 5 Camera Setup

In collaboration with Zeiss, the Vivo X Fold 5 features a triple rear camera setup, each with a 50MP sensor:

• 50MP primary camera

• 50MP ultra-wide sensor

• 50MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom

Both the inner and outer displays come with 20MP front-facing cameras. The Zeiss T coating reduces glare and enhances image clarity.
