Adele Pauses Munich Concert Due to Wardrobe Malfunction
Adele, known for her powerful performances and iconic voice, faced an unexpected challenge during her first show in Munich on August 2nd. The concert, part of a 10-date run in the German city, was interrupted when torrential rain soaked the stage and her elaborate gown.
The 36-year-old singer, dressed in a dark blue floor-length gown with an elegant train, had to pause her performance to remove the train, which had become too heavy and waterlogged due to the downpour.
Footage shared by concertgoers shows two women helping Adele by removing the dripping train from her dress. The singer, known for her candid and humorous stage presence, addressed the situation with the crowd: “Sadly I have to take this gorgeous floor train off because it’s wet and heavy.”
Despite the wet weather, Adele maintained her sense of humor, joking, “At least it’s not thunder and lightning. I got a weather update so it said it wasn’t going to be raining in time for the show, so I thought let me wear this dress with this enormous train on it like a right fanny.”
One attendee shared a video clip of the moment, commenting, “The way it was pouring rain right before the show started, and Adele basically wiped the whole stage with her train so she could barely get up the stairs and they needed to remove it. It was soaking wet. Our girl was struggling.”
Adele’s Munich shows are being held in a specially constructed arena with a capacity of 80,000 people per night. This impressive setup reflects the scale and significance of her performances in Germany.
Adele’s Upcoming Break from Music
In July, Adele announced her intention to take a “big break” from music following her final run of shows, which includes her Las Vegas residency dates in November. Speaking to German broadcaster ZDF, she revealed that her “tank is quite empty at the minute” and that she has no immediate plans to release new music.
Adele expressed a desire to explore other creative pursuits during her break, stating, “I want a big break after all this and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while.” She also mentioned that she doesn’t sing at home, which she found “strange,” given her profession.
Reflecting on her fame, Adele admitted that while she enjoys making music, she misses the anonymity she had before becoming a global superstar. “I like that I get to make music all the time, whenever I want to, and people are receptive to it and like it. That’s pretty unimaginable. But the fame side of it I absolutely hate.”
As Adele continues her Munich concert series, fans are eagerly soaking up each performance, knowing that a significant break from the spotlight is on the horizon for the beloved singer.
