Bollywood icon Akshay Kumar has joined the ensemble cast of Vishnu Manchu’s upcoming film “Kannappa,” as announced by the makers on Tuesday.
While specifics about Kumar’s character remain undisclosed, this marks the acclaimed actor’s debut in Telugu cinema.
Manchu, essaying the titular role in “Kannappa,” took to his official social media page to share the news of Kumar’s inclusion.
“The #Kannappa journey just got more thrilling as we welcome the Superstar Mr. Akshay Kumar to the Telugu Film Industry. Thrilled to announce his debut in Telugu cinema with Kannappa. Get ready for an unforgettable adventure!” Manchu captioned his post.
Based on a true narrative, the forthcoming movie will narrate the tale of Kannappa, a devout follower of Lord Shiva.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced under Manchu’s banners AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory, “Kannappa” boasts a star-studded lineup including Preity Mukhundhan, Mohanlal, Prabhas, Mohan Babu, R Sarathkumar, Brahmanandam, Madhoo, and Mukesh Rishi. The film is slated for release in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and English.
Kumar, whose recent outing was the action-packed film “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” is set to embark on this new cinematic venture, adding another milestone to his illustrious career.
