Amazon Titan Image Generator v2 with Enhanced Features Launched

Amazon has announced the release of its upgraded artificial intelligence (AI) model, Titan Image Generator v2. Building on the success of last year’s Image Generator v1, the new model offers improved capabilities and functionalities aimed at the company’s enterprise customers. Titan Image Generator v2 can generate images using reference images, edit images, remove backgrounds, and customize outputs to maintain brand style and consistency. The model is currently available in limited release in select regions within the United States.

Amazon Titan Image Generator v2 Features

Amazon introduced the second generation of its enterprise-focused image generation platform in a blog post. To access it, eligible users must navigate to the Amazon Bedrock console and request access to the Titan Image Generator G1 v2 AI model through the bottom left panel.

The new model shows significant advancements in image conditioning, allowing it to generate images based on both a reference image and a text prompt. Depending on the instructions provided, the generated images can emphasize specific visual characteristics such as edges, object outlines, and structural elements.

The model supports two types of image conditioning:

  1. Canny Edge: This feature extracts prominent edges within a reference image, creating a map that guides the generation process.
  2. Segmentation: This option offers granular control over the output by allowing users to define specific areas where the AI model can generate new elements.

For brands seeking consistency in their generated images, the Titan Image Generator v2 includes a colour conditioning feature. This allows users to specify a colour palette that will be reflected in the generated images. By providing a reference image with hex colours, users can ensure that the AI-generated images adhere to the brand’s style and colour scheme.

Additionally, the background removal feature has been enhanced to intelligently detect and segment multiple foreground objects, even in complex scenes with overlapping elements, ensuring clean isolation.

The Amazon Titan Image Generator v2 is available in the US East (North Virginia) and US West (Oregon) regions, with plans to expand to more regions in future updates.
