Border 2: Sunny Deol Returns in India’s Biggest War Film, Shooting Begins in November
Since last year, rumors have circulated about a sequel to the 1997 film Border, with Sunny Deol reprising his iconic role. The excitement reached new heights when an announcement video was released in June, featuring Deol’s voiceover and a recreated version of the classic song “Sandese Aate Hai” from the original film. The video also teased that Border 2 will be “India’s biggest war film,” further fueling anticipation.
The sequel is set to be produced by JP Dutta, along with his daughter Nidhi Dutta and her husband Binnoy K Gandhi. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Binnoy provided insights into the progress of Border 2, revealing that the war drama is shaping up well. He expressed his amazement at the script, initially believing it to be written by JP Dutta, only to learn that Nidhi had penned it herself, confirmed by her assistant writer.
Binnoy also confirmed that the shooting for Border 2 will commence in November. There has been much speculation regarding the rest of the cast, with names like Ayushmann Khurrana and Diljit Dosanjh being rumored. However, Binnoy stated that the official cast will be revealed soon. He mentioned that within a month, the confirmed cast members will be introduced to the media in their character styles at a grand event.
Border 2 will be directed by Anurag Singh, known for his acclaimed work on Kesari.
