NSAP – Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme: How To Apply & All Details

Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme: The Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS) is a social welfare initiative launched by the Government of India to provide financial assistance to senior citizens who are below the poverty line. The scheme was introduced as a part of the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP). It is named after the former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi.

Under this scheme, eligible individuals aged 60 years and above receive a monthly pension to support their basic financial needs. The amount of pension varies from state to state, and the central government provides a portion of the funds while the states contribute the remaining portion. The goal of the scheme is to ensure a minimum level of financial security for elderly individuals who lack adequate financial support. It aims to alleviate poverty among senior citizens and enhance their quality of life during their old age.

About IGNOAPS
