Actor Yash has finally explained why he did not attend the funeral of a 25-year-old fan who died by suicide in 2021. The actor said he felt deeply saddened by the incident, but believed that attending the funeral could have sent the wrong message to other fans.
Speaking on Aap Ki Adalat, Yash explained that he did not want his presence at the funeral to create a precedent where fans might think that an extreme act could make their favourite celebrity personally attend their funeral.

According to reports from the time, Ramakrishna was a devoted Yash fan and had expressed a wish for Yash and politician Siddaramaiah to attend his funeral.
Siddaramaiah did attend the funeral, while Yash chose not to go.

He said he was saddened by what had happened but questioned what his attendance after the death would achieve if it could potentially encourage a dangerous idea among other fans.
