SSC Steno Recruitment 2024: Apply Now For Stenographer Post

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the SSC Stenographer Exam 2024, inviting applications to fill 2006 vacancies for Grade C and Grade D stenographers. Interested candidates can apply through SSC’s official website for the SSC Steno post,  with the application deadline set for August 17.

Selection Process For SSC Steno Jobs: The recruitment process includes a computer-based examination (CBE) followed by a skill test in stenography. The CBE comprises sections on General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and English Language and Comprehension. It features a negative marking of 0.25 for every incorrect answer. The exam duration is two hours, and the questions will be available in both Hindi and English.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Class 12 examination from a recognized board.
  • Age Limit:
    • Grade C: 18 to 30 years (born between August 2, 1994, and August 1, 2006)
    • Grade D: 18 to 27 years (born between August 2, 1997, and August 1, 2006)

Application Process:

  1. Visit the official website at ssc.gov.in.
  2. Click on the “Register Now” link in the “Login” section and complete the registration.
  3. Provide personal information including name, parental names, birth date, email, and mobile number.
  4. Submit the registration form.
  5. Log in using your registration ID, birth date, and password.
  6. Upload a scanned photograph and signature.
  7. Complete Part 2 of the application form with the required details and submit it.

Application Fees:

  • General and OBC candidates: Rs 100
  • SC, ST, PWD, ex-servicemen, and female candidates: Exempted from paying the fee

About the SSC Stenographer Exam: The SSC Stenographer exam is a national-level competitive examination conducted by the SSC. It recruits stenographers for Grade C (Group B Non-Gazetted) and Grade D (Group C) positions across various ministries, departments, and organizations of the Indian government. Stenographers are responsible for transcribing spoken words during speeches, conferences, or meetings, as well as assisting in the preparation of official documents and performing clerical and administrative tasks.
