Ishaan Khatter Opens Up About Shirtless Scene Clashes in ‘The Royals’

Actor Ishaan Khatter, who earned praise for his portrayal of the Maharaja of Morpur in Netflix’s hit series The Royals, recently revealed that he had several disagreements with the makers regarding his shirtless scenes. Khatter shared that while the production team was firm on including these scenes, emphasizing their importance to the character, he expressed discomfort and pushed back on certain occasions.

Speaking to Mashable India, Khatter said, “It’s the kind of character who doesn’t wear a shirt. To be honest, now it will look like… but since I had committed, I went for it. Still, I did fight with them on certain days that ‘I can wear a shirt in this scene. It doesn’t require me to be shirtless.’ They had very interesting ways to put this into the script—like I could put on a blanket while sleeping—but I had fun doing it.”
