AFCAT 2025 Education Qualification – Branch-wise Details
Flying Branch

Qualification:
Candidates must have:-
Scored 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level, and

A Graduation (minimum 3-year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks,
OR -
A BE/B Tech degree (4-year course) with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized university.

Ground Duty (Technical) Branch
A. Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) [AE (L)]:

Qualification:

Minimum 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level

A four-year degree in engineering/technology or equivalent

Eligible disciplines: Applied Electronics, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, IT, etc.

B. Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical) [AE (M)]:

Qualification:

Same 10+2 criteria as above

Four-year degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Robotics, etc.

Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch
1. Administration & Logistics:

Qualification:

Graduate degree (minimum 3 years) in any discipline with 60% marks
OR -
A postgraduate degree/equivalent diploma with 50% marks.

2. Accounts Branch:

B.Com degree (minimum 3 years) with 60% marks

Postgraduates with CA/ICWA/M.Com/MBA (Finance) are also eligible.

3. Education Branch:

Postgraduate degree with at least 50% marks,

Minimum 60% marks in graduation.

4. Meteorology Branch (via Ground Duty):

Postgraduate in Science with minimum 50% marks in subjects like Physics, Maths, Meteorology, Environmental Science, etc.

Who Can Apply for AFCAT 2025?

Citizenship: Only Indian citizens as per the Indian Citizenship Act.

Age Limit:

Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years (Born between July 2, 2002 – July 1, 2006)

Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical): 20 to 26 years (Born between July 2, 2000 – July 1, 2006)

Note: Final-year students can also apply for AFCAT 2025 if they do not have any current backlogs and can present proof of passing before the course begins.

Marital Status: Candidates below 25 years must be unmarried.
